FLYSAFAIR TAKES OFF WITH PROTEAS SPONSORSHIP IN NEW THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP

South Africa’s leading low-cost airline, FlySafair, has announced an exciting new sponsorship with South Africa’s national cricket team, the Proteas. Signed on November 5th, the three-year agreement will see FlySafair supporting both the men’s and women’s teams as they push towards reclaiming a top spot in international cricket. This collaboration not only underscores FlySafair’s dedication to South African sports but also bolsters the Proteas as they prepare for a highly competitive season on the world stage.

The move reflects FlySafair’s long-standing commitment to South Africa’s sporting achievements, following in the footsteps of its sponsorship of the Springboks, South Africa’s celebrated national rugby team. Since March 2017, FlySafair has served as the Springboks’ trusted domestic carrier, a partnership marked by FlySafair’s support during the Springboks’ two recent victory tours in South Africa: the first in 2019, after their triumphant World Cup victory in Japan, and again in 2023, following their record-breaking fourth World Cup win in France.

FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kirby Gordon, expressed pride in supporting South African sport, stating, “As a proudly South African airline, we have always believed in backing initiatives that reflect the spirit and resilience of our nation. Our partnership with the Proteas is more than just a sponsorship; it’s a testament to our belief in the future of Cricket South Africa and our commitment to uplifting South African sport.”

With this latest sponsorship, FlySafair strengthens its role as a leading supporter of national sports, promoting unity and pride through cricket and rugby alike. The Proteas’ new leadership and FlySafair’s backing aim to propel South Africa’s cricket teams to new heights, reinforcing the airline’s dedication to initiatives that unite and inspire the nation.
