ASKY RESUMES LOMÉ–POINTE NOIRE FLIGHTS, EXPANDING PAN-AFRICAN CONNECTIVITY

Pan-African airline Asky has officially resumed flights between Lomé, Togo, and Pointe Noire, Congo, with a stopover in Luanda, Angola. After a four-year hiatus due to insufficient passenger demand, the airline celebrated the resumption with a ceremony on October 2, 2024.

The resumption is also expected to boost passenger traffic through Lomé’s Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport, contributing to the airport’s goal of handling 1.5 million passengers by 2025. The increased air traffic will not only enhance connectivity but also reinforce Lomé’s position as a key aviation hub in West Africa.

In line with Asky’s broader expansion strategy, the airline received a new aircraft on October 1, 2024, as part of its modernization plan. This fleet renewal initiative aims to replace older planes with newer, more efficient models. Under the same plan, Asky expects to acquire two new aircraft annually and open routes to two additional destinations, further solidifying its role in African air transport.

With this strategic growth, Asky is committed to offering more reliable services across Africa, positioning itself as a critical player in the region’s aviation industry.
